Caritas Manila is one of the non-profit organizations receiving assistance from Carousell, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing classifieds. The Singapore-based company is stepping up to help in the fight against the new coronavirus (COVID-19) by announcing the launch of COVID-19 Free Ads for Charity.
This initiative will offer up to US$1.4 million in an advertising support program for non-profit organisations helping the communities impacted by COVID-19. Caritas Manila executive director Father Anton CT Pascual said, “We want to thank Carousell for raising awareness for Caritas Manila so that we are able to receive resources to help alleviate the hunger of the less fortunate during this health and social pandemic.”
The $1.4 million fund will focus on supporting any non-profit organizations in the Philippines, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Singapore and their efforts to replenish supply of food and essential health products, donations for upkeep cost, call for volunteers and other initiatives caring for families-at-risk and seniors in need. Carousell Philippines general manager Raffy Montemayor stated, “The COVID-19 pandemic is greatly impacting the lives of many in the region including the Philippines.”
“We want to support Caritas Manila, a non-profit organisation that is playing a key role during the crisis, through access to our platform and users to get greater visibility and a larger reach,” Montemayor continued. “We know that Caritas Manila will be able to help our less fortunate brothers and sisters in this time of great need while we all collectively do our part to help flatten the curve.”
The initiative will launch with existing partnerships including Caritas Manila in the Philippines, Parents Without Partners Berhad in Malaysia, Singapore Red Cross in Singapore and Habitat For Humanity in Hong Kong.
